On November 7, 2006, citizens across the state voted to make Ohio the 16th state nationally to adopt a statewide smoking ban through Issue 5: Smoke Free Ohio. In the monthly leading up to the election, AAYAT interns and general members worked to get the word. The Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus chapters passed out literature at in their communities and collected signatures to get the law on the ballot. The Cleveland and Akron chapter did presentations with area residents and college students to educate them about the issue. Check out our events below!

Kathleen
Nguyen
AAYAT was extremely saddened by the loss of one of its former
interns, Kathleen Nguyen on July 28, 2005. Kat, was an
enthusiastic intern who was passionate about AAYAT and its
message. Her heartwarming smile and caring spirit will be
deeply missed, but not forgotten. If you would like to
contribute a gift to the Kathleen Nguyen Memorial Scholarship
that is administered through the Dayton chapter, please e-mail
cheryl.owens@asiainc-ohio.org
